2007 Seasons Greetings

Seasons Greeting Fellow Patrollers,
Wow, it¹s hard to believe that the holidays are here. Where did the year go? We want to wish you and yours a very safe and joyous holiday season. We have soooo much to be thankful for and it¹s important to take a moment to reflect. A huge part of the Patrol¹s success is you. I know we say it every year and it¹s true. All the planning in the world doesn¹t mean a thing without the ability to execute that plan. And thanks to you, you make it very easy for that to happen.
Our eleventh season was another success. We contributed 354 hours of service to the Forest Service bringing our total to over 4,100 hours. It was a relatively quiet season too. There were no medical or other emergencies and that¹s always a good thing. Yeah, a few of us got caught in the afternoon rain, hail and lightning storms which may have seemed like an emergency at the time, but in the end, we were no worse for the wear. Some of you tested your maintenance skills by assisting with on-trail repairs while all of us encountered that deer-in-the-headlight, ³where am I² look from a number of trail users. With your friendly smile you¹d offer a map and advice and the look of panic would quickly morph into one of relief. You just became a hero.
The Forest Service would also like to express their thanks for what you do. With their ever shrinking budgets, it has become an almost impossible task to do their jobs without volunteers like you. They realize that it¹s a big commitment on your part and they are very thankful, as are we, for your dedication.
On to our twelfth season. With the ever increasing popularity of the Buffalo Creek area and new trails opening up, we expect this coming season to be busier than ever. We hope the Patrol can count on your continued support and we look forward to seeing all of you out on the trails next year.
You guys are great! Have a wonderful holiday season and stay tuned for information regarding the 2008 season.
