July 2009 Patrol Update
Posted July 08, 2009
Wow, the month of June was very busy at Buffalo Creek and it seemed like everyone was getting along and having fun. Let's see... there was a mountain bike race, an equestrian rally and a triathlon that made sure the trails were busy. If those weren't enough, it sounds like their was a record number of regular trails users enjoying the BC trails during June. All patrollers reported higher than normal usage numbers with no conflicts or medical incidents. There was the occasional flat tire and bike repair and a lot of maps were handed out but everyone seemed to be having a good time. With the warmer weather and melting snow, many people will head for higher treasures so we should see a decrease in the number of users on the BC trails.
With the increased temps., please make sure you take the appropriate precautions when patrolling. You know the drill, wear sun screen, drink plenty of liquids and slow down a little on the climbs. We want you back safe and sound.
Our next fun ride is this Sunday, 7/12. Hope to see you there. Also, the following weekend (7/18-19) is the next CoMBA trail building weekend in Buffalo Creek. Work will continue on the double black diamond trail. For more information and to register for event, please go to:
Thanks again for your efforts over the past six weeks. With the training day and regular patrols, we have almost 200 hours of service this season and it's all because of you.
