June 2009 Patrol Update
Posted June 04, 2009
We had a fantastic training day with six new and one returning patroller in attendance. The rains were somewhat cooperative and we were able to get a ride in. Thanks to all who attended and to the USFS for allowing us to use their conference room. There are three more new patrollers who could not make it that day that will receive training shortly. With nine new patrollers swelling our ranks to over 30 active members, we've been able to just about fill the schedule for this season.
The first weekends of the season have been very busy at Buffalo Creek. There has been a lot of activity on the trails and it will probably remain that way until the high country begins to open up. Even though it's been busy, it seems like everyone is having a good time and being very courteous.
We had a great turnout for the CoMBA trail building event last weekend and got a good start on the new, advanced skills trail in Buffalo Creek. Here's a link that has a few pics and commentary. http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=518102 The next build weekend is July 18-19 so mark your calendars.
BikeSource is in the midst of a huge sale and we want to share it with you. The savings are fabulous so stop on by and check it out.
If you're planning on riding in Buffalo Creek this weekend, be advised that there is an Equestrian time trial event happening both days with up to 60 participants each day. We are trying to find out the exact course for each day and will let the scheduled patrollers know as soon as we do.
Thanks again for your participation and we hope to see you out on the trails. The fun ride schedule will be published soon so stay tuned.
