June 2010 Patrol Update
Posted June 15, 2010
Well, the season is off to a busy start. We had a great training day with several new members joining the crew. The first couple of weekends were uneventful but the trails have been very busy. Lots of traffic on the trails and everyone seems to be having fun. The parking lot along 543 near the Buff Ck. Community Center has been full lately with overflow parking back at the USFS Work Center. Last weekend was a wash out but the moisture is very welcome. The trails were very dry and in prime, mid-summer form; nice and lose... like riding on marbles.
BikeSource is back again for their eight season supporting the Patrol. You will find a full supply of tubes, water bottles and patch kits in our storage box at the USFS Office. New this year are 29er tubes. Woo hoo! Please feel free to help yourself and let people know where the supplies come from. Thanks again to Bob Copeland and all the folks at BikeSource for their continued support of our efforts. We greatly appreciate it.
COMBA will be back out in Buff Ck this Saturday working on the new Black Diamond trail. There's a very good possibility that we can have this trail open late this season but we need help to make this happen. So if you have some free time this Saturday, c'mon out and lend a hand. There will be a post-work day BBQ too. For more info and to register, check this out: Buffalo Creek Black Diamond Trail
Hope to see you there.
Thanks again for your efforts out on the trails. It's because of you that the Patrol works.
